Prof Hannette Staack and Prof Andre Terencio are heading back to Panama and invite you to the 2022 Brazil 021 Jiu Jitsu Surf Camp in Playa Venao, Panama

Playa Venao is a remote surf town on the Pacific Coast of Panama famous for some of the best surfing in Central America. Click on the links and info tab above for details of the village. The sandy beach break is perfect for beginners to advanced surfers. Playa Venao also has a new Jiu-Jitsu facility at the Beach Break Surf Camp that will host us.

This is the perfect trip to share with your significant other or family. It's an 021 event, so the Jiu-Jitsu will be outstanding. More importantly, this camp brings the added benefit of being able to share with someone special. That person in your life who does not understand the allure of grappling-perfect. Hammocks and beaches are plentiful. Surf camp will teach them how to surf. Yoga, sound healing, Muay Thai, breathwork, bodywork, hiking, salsa dancing, EDM music at the El Sitio Club, and more are all available.

Perfect for little kids. We can arrange a guide who will take your kids on an excursion searching for sand dollars, baby turtles, and monkeys, or just safely babysit them while you train. Older kids-perfect. We can arrange surf lessons, horseback riding, waterfall hiking or join professor John for 2 hours of fun workouts and BJJ every day. This trip is full of opportunities and your spouse and child may enjoy the trip more than you do.

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is a martial art historically connected with surfing. This trip will build your connection to your Jiu-Jitsu game in many ways.

Your Retreat Teachers

Andre Terencio was born on the 20th of of December 1977 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He started training in the beginning of the 1990’s in “Academia Santana” when Andre was only 13years old, because he was an obese child with lack of self confidence.

André Negão’s first and only instructor was Carlos Henrique, one of the best coaches there was in Brazil at the time, and the man who graded him from white to black belt.

Today, André is a great Jiu Jitsu personality and one of the best coaches in BJJ today, having graduated great champions like Hannette Staack. Negao is also one of the founding members of the Brazil 021 team. A team with affiliates all over the world, including the two strongest “BJJ countries”, the United States and Brazil.

Retreat teacher #1

Hannette Staack was born on the 7th of February 1979, in São Luís do Maranhão, in the northern Brazil territory, though she moved to Rio de Janeiro when she was two years old. Hannette began her jiu-jitsu training when she was 18 years old with “Professor” Fernando Cruz and Master Flavio Figueiredo.

Soon after Hannette received her purple belt, Fernando Cruz gave up on his BJJ teaching career, it was then that Master Flavio introduced Staack to her next (and current) instructor, Andre “Negão” Terencio.

Today, Hannette Staack one of the most accomplished grapplers in the history of the female Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt division, a rank she earned from Andre Terêncio. Aside from her vast competitive resume, Staack is also one of the founding members of the Brazil 021 Team.
